Linux Forums

Seeing as PPOt is a fount of wisdom on many subjects I thought I'd ask about these right here.

I'm considering getting a new 'netbook'.. one of the ACER One machines to have in the case at all times.. work related stuff..

One of the prime uses is to drive presentations (pdfs and powerpoint stuff) and I know that Linux has the Open Office version that I use easily....

Pdfs work ok...but we are beginning to use lots and lots of 3D pdfs..and nobody here knows if Linux will support this.

I know there are some seriosu IT people here and long term Linux fans...if you know of a Pelican like Linux forum that could help out..

Cheers.

I mod a few of the sub forums at justlinux.com

And a PDF is a PDF... should Just Work. Besides, you can get Acrobat Reader for Linux as well as the native PDF viewers.

3D support in Acrobat is part of the Pro Extended version.

I'd research it heavily as that may not be available in the Open Source alternatives.
