Another Jeffrey Dahmer in the Making Breaks into Zoo
Check out the link.
A 7 year old boy breaks into a zoo and crushes lizards and turtles to death and feeds live animals to a crocodile all for fun:eek: This kid is a psychopath and a monster. What does society do with a true monster-in-the-making like this? Not to mention, WHAT THE EFF is a 7 year old boy doing running around without supervision? Sue the parents, yeah fine. they deserve it but what the hell to do (no, really...we're not allowed to feed HIM to the croc!) with the kid? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27005221/ |
While I disagree with the trend in this country of overpunishing kids (for example, making a 7-year old register as a sex offender because he kissed his "girlfriend" on the playground), I also disagree with the idea of shielding real monsters (like this kid) from any punishment because of their age.

Some folks are just wired wrong, will never ever be set straight and need to be separated from society. Luckily, this kid has been identified at a young age. I doubt much will happen to him, but he should be locked away in reform school until he's 18. Sure, he'll commit a crime immediately upon release and should then have the book thrown at him. Like sexual predators, they are only enabled by getting released from custody. There is no rehabilitating such folks.

Scary stuff.
Jake, do you know if for the ones with "stuff they were subjected to," could they be "unbroken" with electroshock therapy? I seriously doubt if "the state" could impose that on a kid... just curious. |
nah, we use lethal injection now...
no worries, his name will surface again.. Rika |

They had a kid last year, about 6 yrs old, who was burning the neighborhood cats in a metal garbage can. Mom knew but was hiding it, stepdad found out and brought him in. What do you do with a 6 yr old who likes to burn cats alive? I yi yi |
you throw him and Mom in a dumpters and set in on fire.

I'm really torn on this. The Kid is a MONSTER.
do we take him from his parents? Do we have a counseler with him 24/7 Do we do nothing? Do we place a tracking device on him? Glad it's not my problem. |
kids who abuse animals often turn into adults who abuse kids...
this kid needs therapy - at a minimum -- it may work; if not, then some of the mode draconian ideas above need to ne employed |
Has any kid like this ever been cured? I'd really like to know. I highly doubt it. Has a sexual predator ever decided to go straight after getting out of the joint?

Its the collective societal impotence that makes me crazy about things like this. Virtually everyone but this kid's parents and maybe some extended relatives (and even some of them probably won't let him in their houses after this) know this kid is a monster. Obviously, you can't execute this kid, you can't put him in any hospital or jail for the rest of his life. He is going to grown up and at some point soon begin to experience sexual urges...but what kind will they be? Sends a chill down my spine because you just KNOW this isn't the only kid like this out there. There are just too damned many of us for there to be only this one.
The expression, "how bad could he be, he's only a kid" doesn't apply to this kid AT ALL. |

Do to the kid what the apes did to the astronauts in Planet of the Apes. Was it a frontal lobotomy? Then give him back to his parents to care for, they spawned him. I think we should take a collection right here at pelican for the cost. In fact I've always wanted to go to the Connecticut School of Brain Surgery, maybe I could give it a go.

Typical psychopath pattern. Too bad he did not trip and fall into the croc pound himself.

hmmm, I guess it would not be wise to admit on this forum to killing insects, frogs and gardener snakes with the neighbor kids as a youth.

Sickening.
Not sure what to say. I grew up hunting, and when I was young I took some pot shots a chipmunks and birds for no reason. But I sure as hell knew I was doing something wrong when I did it. Anything else we shot, we ate (errrr.....well, perhaps not the squirrels). Dunno. I have hunted my whole life, and yet I can never imagine smashing something to death with a rock. I remember friends using a magnifying glass to fry ants and thinking that it was wrong. Somewhere out there (please don't call on me to define it) there in an ethical code to killing, and this kid doesn't have it. And if he doesn't have it at age 7, I seriously doubt he ever will. |
