2008 CFB Season Vent . . .

Is pretty much over as far as I'm concerned. I just drove back 4 hours (had the in-laws in the car and couldn't make TOO good of time) from Nashville after a whooping laid out by Vandy. I think I might have to go find a few corners to work on the weekends (um . . . at some tracks), let someone else sit in my spot at J-H and allow Auburn to figure out what they're going to do for 2009. I've sat through 5 win seasons before, but those were usually due to scholarship suspensions for NCAA violations. THIS . . . this is just . . . last time I felt like this I started tearing my 911 apart the next day. And seeing as to how it's still apart two years later and counting, I might have to strip the BMW.

Oh well. There are more important things to worry about, like putting the car back together . . .

I know how it feels. Toledo lost to Ball State and Florida Int @ home is terrible. I was feeling good about the season when we lost to #25 (at the time) Fresno St in 2OT. Now we go to Michigan next week for what looks like a sure loss. Things seem like they cannot get worse.

I think you are being too hard on yourself. What people don't seem to realize is Vandy has some real talent this year. A lot of teams are thinking that this is the same ole weak $hit Vandy only to walk out of the stadium with another loss.

It's not the same ole Vandy, the Dores are good. The defense is fantastic, minus the two possessions in the 1st last night, they have been extremely solid all year. The offense has some good speed, and hands. The backup QB looked pretty damned good, and I know the starter can leave defenses in the dust, he's not that accurate of a passer though. Vandy might be playing for the SEC title. (Did I just say that?) They look to be 6-0 when they take it to Georgia in 2 weeks.

Both my parents went to Vandy, as did a brother, and I might be more fired up over Vandy than any of them.

Go Dores!

I'm watching our 3rd year head coach return Kansas State to the doormat of the Big 12. Frankly, I'd be happy to see us take Tubberville off of your hands. At least our defense wouldn't give up over 500 yards for EIGHT STRAIGHT GAMES!!!! And after two years of .500 football, our AD game him a 5 YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION!!!! W T F ?!

Yeah, I'm a bit frustrated. I want to see them pull a Nebraska, fire everyone and bring in Bill Snyder as AD, then try to find a former KSU assistant to be head coach. Maybe throw a bunch of money at Jim Leavitt?

Kansas University made a great come from behind to beat Iowa State! And Missouri spanked Nebraska.

MD beats Cal and Clemson back to back, not great teams, but they were ranked and we were not. Then, we lay an egg against Virginia? .

I listened to the KU game on the radio, I thought they were done when it was 21-0 at halftime. I hate KU, but give them credit for a damn good comeback on the road. Mizzou showed Nebraska that Bo still has a lot of work to do.

I watched the KU vs ISU game. ISU owned the first half, and in typical ISU fashion feel apart in the second half, or third quarter to be specific.

KU won that game by about 2 feet. That is how far ahead the pass was to a wide open ISU player streaking down the sideline with less than a minute left after ISU got the onside kick. Had he caught it, he was gone for 6....

Don't feel bad. I'm a Tennessee fan...

I don't think that I'm so miserable because it was Vandy. I respect every team we play because I truly believe that ANY team is capable of winning any game. We're all human (except Reggie Bush, who's just scored another punt return TD and could have had a third had he not slipped). I think the reason I'm throwing in the towel this year is that I don't sense that our team (players and coaches alike) is actually trying to win games. It has motivated me to stay in the garage all day and fit my floorpans . . . at least something good's coming of it.

Too bad their opponents don't seem to get the memo.
