For those in the know...

Quote:
If you go out in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

Picnic time for teddy bears,
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today.
Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily dance about.
They love to play and shout.
And never have any cares.
At six o'clock their mommies and daddies
Will take them home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears.

If you go out in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

CHORUS

Every teddy bear, that's been good
Is sure of a treat today
There's lots of wonderful things to eat
And wonderful games to play

Beneath the trees, where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

CHORUS

Yeah, John Holmes died from aids after making a movie desparately broke and just as stupid!
Everyone thought for awhile that Eddie looked like Holmes, especially when you see a Eddie Haskel t-shirt with his picture on that closely resembled Holmes. Darn, I wished I kept mine!!

Getting old does suck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! Here they come with a rum-tee tum they're having a toy parade.
A tin giraffe with a fife and drum is leading the kewpie parade.
A gingham cat in a soldier's hat is waving a Chinese fan,
A plastic clown in a wedding gown is dancing with Raggedy Ann.

Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're crossing the living room floor
Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're up to the dining room door.

They call a halt for a choc'late malt or cookies and lemonade
Then off they go with a ho ho ho right back to their toy brigade.

My all time favorite tv show. Just mentioned this on a thread last week.

June used to say, "Gee Ward, you were a little rough on the Beaver last night!"

Looking at that photo,

Gee, old age has been a little rough on the beaver too. How such a cute kid turned to that?!

Beaver (Jerry) is probably near 60, I'm sure Ken and Tony are closer to 65. Classic TV!

A classic show... will always be one of my favorites.

For a fun, similar, 30-minute family-with-two-boys show with very strong performances by the entire cast, brought forward into the late '60's with the stresses of those times and a bit of family dysfunction, there's The Wonder Years.

Great story lines, and contrasted with Leave it to Beaver, you can't beat Wayne calling Kevin "Scrote" and "Butthead" and just generally harrassing him constantly.

When "The Wonder Years" was on, I remember I deduced from date references on the show that Fred Savage's character, Kevin was exactly my age at the same time I was. They even shot the last epsiode's parade in what is called, "Uptown" Whittier, the city where I grew up. I am 53 about to be 54 in a couple of weeks. I went to high school from '68 to '72. I remember thinking they really got the historical references about right. I loved that show, and I loved Winny. I still get a charge out of seeing Danica McKellar every once in awhile...though she isn't as "hot" (that sounds creepy, she was a little girl) as she was in the show.

Great shows!
I turned 49 this year

When I turned 30, I felt like I was 21
When I turned 40, I felt like I was 30
When I turned 49, I felt like I was 48

Old age, serious business!

Life was so simple at the Beaver's house. I love that show today and when it was new. I'm just happy those guys are still around to make me look younger.
