Pic's of handguns and a few words about them.

There seems to be growing interest in handguns around this site. Can we have a few pics of yours and some words on what it's like to use.

Oh, I'll bite. A few of mine:

Occasional motorcycle open carry piece

Waiting for Dad to hand this one off to me. I helped Mom pick it out for him for Xmas when I was six.

Nightstand piece.

Same one totally naked.

My main car and CCW piece.

My Hans Gruber gun.

A few other SIG's of mine.

As for using them, they're all top of the line quality and will last forever. I'd trust my life to any of them. The Hans Gruber gun gets very hot, since it's gas-operated. The others are a bit more practical, as they are all still in production and not as expensive as the P7. The first SIG is my P220 in .45ACP. I have about 11k rds. through it. I'm so sentimental about it now that I don't like taking it out of the house and am thinking of buying another just for that purpose. Gawd, I love that gun.

Ruger .44 (wife's preferred tool for blasting the occasional snapping turtle in the pond) and Colt Peacemaker .22 (occasional plinking)

Bersa .380 (wife's 10th anniversary gift)

I rarely use the pistols, but if Obama wins, I will get my CCW with the Bersa before he pushes to change firearm laws. My shotgun and rifles are the most useful to me for killing varmints with. While I could use a pistol, I typically choose the weapon that will give me the best chance of getting the job done. (At two in the morning when the dog starts barking, I most always grab my Surefire flashlight equipped shotgun)

Gorgeous gun. I stole one just like it on Gunbroker for $688 NIB and later traded it even for my Bushmaster M4.

I have this, traded a P226 for it. I think I shot much better with the Sig, though I've never had any problems with the HK.

Rick what's going rate for a basic Bushmaster?

And is Bushmaster still the best value in AR's?

I sold my 357 revolver a few weeks ago, so now I just have my Rock Island 1911 - a timeless design and a great gun for not much money.

My only other one is a Ruger Mk II target. Mine is in stainless, this one is blued (only pic I could find)

I looked at the RIA, pretty tight gun for the money. The decision eventually was made for me, as my wife bought me a Springfield Mil-Spec for Christmas 2006. I did lust over the Springfield Professional 1911s as posted above, but too rich for my blood.

You can probably get one for $750-$800 if you really shop hard. $950 all day long. But these things are like 911's - impossible not to mod. You can easily double your money into the gun with optics, taclight, freefloat rails, etc. I think in the near future spare parts and mods. will be more abundant than the ammo to shoot them.

AZ truly is a gunowner's paradise. I think only Alaska, Montana and Idaho are as good or better. Got my CCW in the mail less than two weeks after sending in the paperwork and wasn't even an AZ resident yet. I've sold two guns and bought one in private party deals here so far.

BTW, that first 1911 I posted is a Springfield Mil-Spec I absolutely stole on Gunbroker for $275 delivered. It was missing just the barrel. I ordered that and the other parts I wanted on eBay for around $120 total, mailed it all to Robar and they sent me back a nicely redone 1911. When I moved here a year or so later and Robar was now just down the street, I took it back to them and said I didn't like the finish (shiny black then). They redid it in NP3 free of charge, which would have run $280 otherwise. Now I love this gun and still don't have that much into it.
