Tabs is furious
It just pisses me off.
So many people do not pay attention, do not add things up, do not think out of the box. All they know is what they are told by a media that spins spins spins. It all amounts to being lied to. As such all these people are able to do is be REACTIVE to a situation and not be able to act proactivily. Third 90% of the people have an EMOTIONAL biases to politics, something inside of them binds them to a political philisophy. Liberal or Conservative it does not matter. When you are bound to ideology one cannot make rational decisions. All it is is EMOTION. KNOW YOUR HISTORY AND KNOW YOUR FACTS....then you have a chance at seeing the BS. AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE BEING SOLD TODAY...IS BS.

Agree - the sad truth is that the gen pop always has and always will react nonsensical and emotionally v. logical and timely. This is exactly why to succeed in this world all you have to do is forego ethics and logic and appeal to the emotions of your audience. Heck you don’t even have to be smart! Ambition and an amoral bend can make you millions...
yo catch mo flies wit BS than even wit sugar!

Yes you are correct...I do not care for them that much. I see them as being disingenous. It is largily over their anti-spoon stance.
I do have bias, but when discussing something I am able to discount my own opinion and move my rhetoric over a notch or two for accuracy. I see nothing as being black or white...there is good and bad in everything. So when people rail at GW for instance it is just emotion talking. One has to ask what do ya see that is good in GW...if ya can give me an answer that is affirmative then you credibility goes up. If ya can not then you fall into the delusional camp. Simple.

I agree 100%, tabs. And this isn't just a political thing... in every facet of life, people are losing the ability to make informed decisions. People have been brainwashed into taking sides without knowing what they're fighting for.

Tabs, there is an alternative candidate: Ralph Nader is on the ballot in 45 states. He was in Albany today and was courting the disaffected Dems of the Hillary group of the Clinton Wing. He got a very good reception, I am told. This could be a repeat of the 2000 election. Hill was reported to say "Oh!" "We've seen that movie and it doesn't have a good ending" See the article by Michael Gormley, associated press writer today. Ralph said the White House? corporate owned; the major parties? failures; the war? it is waged by corporate armies and the military; Taking on Wall Street- he practically invented it. Obama's camp said they are not worried. New York is in the bag for Obama, they claimed.(probably so in my opinion)

I find it difficult to believe you can tell the difference between good and bad. For whom? The world? The democratic nations? The US? The Iraquis? Tabs? Me? I'm guessing you have an emotional attachment to your definition of good, and therefore it is all BS

Good and Bad are relative terms. There only is the "What it is" in the world. Without the good or bad connotation. A neutral bias.
If ya can't get t a neutral bias then you stand in the delusional camp of being held hostage to your emotional derived ideology.

If we are reduced to merely seeing the "what it is" in the world and striving to attain that neutral bias, not allowing your vision to be clouded by good or bad connotation, then you cannot make judgements, only observations. Even if most people are reduced to being REACTIVE, at least they are participating.
The ability to make judgements allows you to see how bad European (especially French) politics are for the world. And how hard the US is working to do good by working to clean up their mess.

You're making judgements of good and bad. Tabs would accuse you of camping with others likewise deluded. I wonder Tabs, with a self-imposed inability to make judgements of good and bad, how do you intend to apply your knowledge of history, or is it enough to simply have that knowledge and do nothing with it, like your collection of spoons?

TAZ..I am in no mood to fk around with your semantics.
I try and asses a situation realistically discounting emotional bias as best as I can. This past week there has been a great deal of fear. Yet while feeling that FEAR, I did not let it rule my decision making nor cloud my thinking. I seperate the emotional bias from the action or the assesment of the situation. Sometimes that can be very hard to do, especially when your life flashes before your eyes. Is anyone perfect the answer is NO. I do have political bias, it represents how I feel and what I see. However I realize it skews the thinking a bit...over a notch or two. But it represents MY POV. and since everybody has to be somewhere that is my somewhere in the political spectrum. So I choose to be at that somewhere. I also see the duality in arguments...both sides of the equation at the same time. However I choose my POV. and represent that as best I can. Nostatus understands the duality arguement very well, because that is what is ALWAYS going on in his head. Basically what he needs to do is come to a recouciliation of those 2 points of view. That Duality..is exactly why I just love the Rolling Stones...in paticular the Beggars Let it Bleed era. That is because the songs have such oposing points of view represented at the same time..ambiguity... For example .....Midnight Rambler....Jagger goes from 1st person to 2nd person in a sentence. It is that ambiguity that is like the flitting of a butterfly, it represents nothing solid, no singular POV...it quiet frankly is Schizophrenic. Both sides at once. I also have to admit that it is difficult to sometimes articulate ideas that are as abstract as what I have presented.
