Any eye docs out there? LASIK/PRK question.
I get all my financial and relationship advice here, so why not medical?
Had PRK on my eyes back in '97 (pre-LASIK). Doc said after I turned 40, eyes will start going south due to aging. Well...he was right. I need reading/driving glasses now. Question is: Once you've had PRK, can you have another procedure "on top" of it to touch up your vision? ![]() |

You lens is getting stiffer with age. Even if PRK corrects focal point trough cornea abrasion, if lens is not able to bend enough to change to near focus you will need reading glasses. It's nothing with PRK to do, it would happen even if you had perfect sight.
That's how my PRK surgeon explained it to me.

OK, sounds reasonable. But, can I get a new procedure to fix my eyes for another 10 yrs?

I don't believe you can have Lasik done after PRK. I'm not an ophthalmologist though. My advice would be to call your local ophthalmologist who does Lasik and ask.
