That was a true ass-beating. I'm now convinced that UT really is that good, and Missouri was seriously over-rated. If UT can run the table I'll be seriously impressed, they play every other ranked team in the Big 12.:eek:

29-32 for 337. Wow. I'm not too sure you need a running game with those stats.

OTOH, I'm glad I don't live in Austin any mas. It's all you hear, horns, horns, horns! Fvch, tell me about the Ice bats! It gets old being being a Texas fan living in Austin.

They look much better than when they won the national championship with Young. Colt's definently the real McCoy. He doesn't seem cocky, he just goes out and gets the job done.

Austin is surely not the same place where I went to school 20 years ago. I was there a few weeks ago and I kept thinking how I got screwed by going to college when the typical female fashion was baggy running shorts and over sized T-shirts.

You missed it, 30 years ago it was short shorts and halter tops!

oh man, a real nail biter today. Scored free tickets, went to a tailgate sponsered by a local brewery Liveoak before the game. I had a feeling all week that Ok State would be a very tough game. UT special teams let them down big time. Lots of work to do this week in practice. Tech should be a really good game next week, glad this week is over and they survived.

now that I'm caught up on games it makes sense. Good for Paterno. I'm glad Ohio State got beat. I hope somehow Arizona can squeak out a win over USC, but it's not looking like they will :(

Paterno BARELY won today, against a team that was spanked soundly by the lowly trojans most of you enjoy bashing so much. Seems that Ohio state is a great team again.
They were great before they played the trojans, then you said they sucked after they were spanked, and after your short term memory kicked in they're great again. Whatever makes you feel better LOL.

Then there's bama, another team that people are drooling over. They seemed to struggle with tennessee who lost to, get this, Auburn and UCLA ;)

Texas looks tough but IMO Tejas tech looks better. Texas has the offense but other teams are running up the score on them. Offense without defense get's you to the big games but doesn't win them. My prediction is TTU beats baja Oklahoma next week.

I have a feeling UT will be prepared to Tech next week and it will look more like the Mizzu beat down. Ok state surprised them and UT just couldn't stop the run. If they hadn't tried to force the passing game and stuck to the run they would have beat UT yesterday. Tech is a pass only offense and they have 0 defense. I think UT will have a much easier time than they did yesterday. We'll see, as with all the top teams this year it's really had to win them all. I just wish UT had the easy schedule like the other guys ;)

BTW, Paterno's winning percentage at Penn st. is 74.7%

Pete Carroll's at USC is close to 85% and that includes a very rough first season when he inherited someone elses problem and went 6-6.
He is #1 in active coaches in winning percentage. Paterno is #9.
Before any of ya start with the easy schedule BS, we can go back and compare the ranked teams that USC beat in that era vs. the ranked teams that PSU beat in the same era, you won't like the way that turns out.

Take Carroll's first season out and his winning percentage would be closer to 90%.

Paterno is a class act all the way thru - I know as I used to work at Penn. State

Before that I was at Indiana -- Bobby Knight was another one who was very serious about the idea that his players were student-athletes. I had some in my non-majors classes - and if I lifted a finger, he'd have staff swarming that kid's rear to attend class and study. BK did have some other issues however. Paterno does not.

oh yeh - looks like Oregon is now tied with the condoms for 1st place in the PAC...

OSU is a much better team than what people make them out to be. And UT and the rest of the US found out yesterday. They played Texas hard and close. It was a real game the entire time.

Now the TTU vs. UT game, that is going to be interesting. I think UT won't have any issues scoring on TTU's defense and TTU's offense might not have too many issues scoring on UT's defense. However, in the end I believe that Texas' defense can come up with a few more stops that Tech's defense. So UT will probably win in a shoot-out.

Oh, and Davis and Mack better not play it conservatively at the end like they did with Oklahoma.. Leach is a gambler and he could very well burn Texas if they begin to play the conservative 3 run plays and punt game.

I was glad to see O-State only dropped 2 spots after the game this week. That was a good one, despite losing they really impressed me.

No suprise UT opened a can of whoopass on A&M. Going to the game was definately the best way to spend Thanksgiving day! All there is to do now is wait. The A&M program is just beaten down and probably has the lowest level of talent in 20 years. Franchione was worse than the death penalty.

I thought the Aggie defense came to play in the first half, they held Texas on several occasions, the problem was the friggin offense couldn't gain an inch. The poor defense just got worn down and it was all over.

Oh well, here's hoping Sherman turns this thing around!!

I was hoping for a different turnout yesterday. Not only because I went to A&M but because one of my coworkers is an idiot t-shirt Texas fan. This guy would have trouble getting into a junior college, let alone a major university.

Looks like TTU is trying to fudge it all up for the Sooner and anti Texas fans. A loss to Baylor? That would send Texas to the big 12 championship game regardless of tonights outcome of OU v OSU.

4th quarter TTU down 28-21. GO TTU, make it interesting!!:D

tech should be moving down in the polls after that performance against Baylor!

I personally drank 12 of those during the OU/Texas game. They sell them at Bubba's every year which is just down from my house! Hook'em! Real Ale brews them. They also brew a local favorite firemans #4.

Any guesses on who gets the nod? I'll say Texas gets bumped.

Missouri should get told to enjoy the week off so we can watch OU vs UT go head to head for a winner take all Big 12 Showdown...won't happen but I wish it would.

however it shakes out, two very deserving teams will only get to watch.

After sitting through the Soak at Doak yesterday, I can honestly say that none of you have any thing for the Florida Gators and Tim Tebow.

Well, they just announced the BCS standings.. UT switched places with OU.

I'm a fan of the Big 12 north, but that would be seriously cool. It's a damn shame that 2 excellent Big 12 south teams will be in lesser games.

It would be for the betterment of the Conference too.

If ALL Conferences would at least have a Conference Championship game where the 2 highest BCS teams played each other, it would resemble a first round play-off. Would reaquire some Conf rule changes but I think it would be a first good step.
