Passing Out at Weddings - 'Sup w/dat?

Do an inordinate amount of people pass out at weddings, or does it just seem that way? Anyone have any idea why this might be?

Having to stand at attention for long periods of time, coupled with extreme boredom. Weddings are torture.

An uncle passed out during my thesis defense, but it must have been more boring than a wedding .

Stress, vaso-vagal (sp? help me out here docs) reaction, etc. Kinda common for kids doing performances, etc. as well. Helps to keep your knees slightly bent, that way you just crumple. Knees locked sends you tilting.

es verdat

it is because you bend your knee, take the weight off the bones and put it on the muscle, when the muscle contracts it squeezes the blood back up to your melon.

Or is it payback from partying the night before with the groom and other guys in the wedding? I was in a few right after college that no one should have driven to

Yeah, we've got our winner. Every wedding I've ever been in, we've been completely scheisshaused. The night before and the morning of, usually. One, we pirated (non-consecrated) communion wine before the ceremony.

People pass out because they have to stand in their own fumes, which contain surprisingly little breathable oxygen.

I can't recall a single wedding I have attended sober, including my own.

I'm not proud of it.........yes I am.....

LOL, I went out at my younger brother's wedding. It was 95 degrees, wearing a monkey suit, standing in the hot sun for an hour after drinking a little the night before.

I vomited on the bus on the way back from a wedding a few yrs. ago. At another one we tailgated in the church parking lot and brought minis in for the ceremony.

its from locking your knees when standing. happened all the time when i was in the military. we were told to slightly bend your knees every now and then to let the blood flow.
