Gulf Blue Surfboard

I'm thinking about buying another long board and I was wondering if anyone knows of a shaper in So Cal that could do a board for me in the Gulf Blue paint scheme of the old 917's including graphics.
I think it would be way cool to put on the Porsche and head down to Old Man's (it's a surf spot) not to mention just plain cool to look at. Unfortunately everyone I use to know got out of the business due to enviro regulations in Kalifornia.

Steve

Any shaper should be able to do any color combo you like; you need to get out and talk to some shapers.

Clarke Foam closed up shop a few years ago, but several other blank mfgs have stepped in to fill the void. There's still a lot of shapers out there. Failing that, build your own - it isn't that difficult.

I always wondered if it would be a good idea to have a surf board painted to look like a seal, or whatever sharks like to eat

Instead of a regular polyester on foam, go for a expoxy on syrene board. Half the wieght means twice the performance

I don't think you'll get gulf blue as they are made in asia and they don't know about or appreciate 917s.

I'm trading in my 6'10" and my 8'2" and getting a high performance 9".

A high performance 9 inches, gulp, yes it does sound dangerous.

Some of us were lucky enough to be naturally equipped with a "...high performance 9"..."

I've got a Channel Islands M13 (big guys short board) and it's already gulf'ish blue. It's an epoxy board. Do not know how well vinyl graphics would stick, though, but you could probably trick it out. Oh, I'm not selling

HAHAHA Jeff...

ahem...

Call Harbour in Seal. A San-O in gulf blue would be wicked, and quite appropriate for your request.
