Do You Ever Go Shirtless or Wife-Beater in Public?

Other than the beach or a public pool? In Waikiki, you could walk down the street and even into a restaurant, hotel, etc. shirtless - no big deal. If you did that in the business district near my neighborhood, even on a 90+degree day, it would probably creep some people out. I saw a neighbor do this recently. It was kinda weird.

Do you ever do it? What's the mindset of your typical "shirtless guy"?

No. I'm not hideous shirtless, but I'm certainly not going to subject anyone to that sort of thing. Besides, snow blindness is a real danger.

It's not really any different than the Europeans in their speedos, only not quite as extreme, thank goodness.

If the temps are above 75 I am shirtless while doing yard work. I personally don't care if anyone finds it revolting.

Damn, I should have picked up on that one. Running a little slow due to lack of sleep from a nasty cold/possible bronchitis. I feel like hell and can't wait to go to the doctor in the morning. The appropriate response

Never.....not good etiquette. The beach, lake, pool are the only exceptions. Wife-beaters...not good style.

It's seems most folks arrested on those cop shows are either wearing a "wife beater" or topless. Skinny as a lizard as well.

When I lived in FL anything was fine. It IS the clothing optional state. However, there does come a time in a mans life that he should not wear tanks or beaters in public, I mean other than his own yard. I'm pretty fit for my 57 years old but I sure don't have the body of a 20 or a 30 year old. I'm ok with that. I still wear beaters in the summer here around the house, but not like around town for sure. I'm pushin' 60 and it shows, ya just can't help that.

As long as he ain't rockin' moobs, I'd give shirtless-jogger a pass, as well as the guy doin' yard work - hey, his property.

Some think topless at the ballpark is OK. I get that. Seems like a prerequisite in the Wrigley bleachers. I'd just hate having to sit next to that dude for 9 innings.

I have far more compassion for my fellow man than that. That, and I can't stand the sounds of babies and small children crying, and young women screaming.
