Sub 10 seconds is what the page says. Still stinking fast. But a Hayabusa will go Sub-10, and cost a hell of a lot less.

Well, its a Harley, so it should make it the whole quarter mile.......hopefully.
The 'Busa, well you can drive it to the track, beat the HD, drive it home, or across the state, or even country (if your ass can take that kind of pounding....) I am so amazed that people pay for dinosaur quality junk like HD's when there are so many better alternatives.... Even in the cruiser only world, Suzuki, Honda, and Kawasaki crush those dino-junk bikes... just my .02.

I don't beleive my Harley is "dinosaur quality junk" my 02 just went over 100K with nothing more than oil changes and other normal maintenance. and my 03 has 40K on it and neither of them leak or smoke. Harley has come a LONG way in reliability and customer satisfaction in the last 10-15 years. I also own some Jap bikes so I am not an ignorant "fanatic".

Is he above you? Ask if you can be next in line for his job when he offs himself on that thing.

Harleys aren't my thing, but they do sell half the motorcycles in the Uniteds States. I don't think half the market is just blinded by the image, yes?
As a Ducati rider, I don't think I have much room to squeak about quality issues over at Harley.....

They assisted with the design of the V-Rod engine, that is true. The quality and manufacturing is all HD.
I am glad to hear that crustychief has had good luck with his bikes. All of my friends that had them have had nothing but issues. The only bike that my friends have had with more is Victory, those are all basically factory lemons. I do realize that they sell a lot of bikes and that is good (as they give US citizens jobs, etc). I also know that they are producing too many of them. There was a time when the demand exceeded the number, sadly those days are gone. HD has to idle their manufacturing lines up to two weeks a year now. Personally, I have owned a few japanese bikes, all have been reliable. I don't even know anyone that has had trouble with theirs (unless it was heavily modified, which is par for the course). Overall, I hope quality has gone up at HD. They could be a future GM.....doubtful, but possible. Also, yes that HD image and brand sells a lot. People have HD tatooed on themselves. I doubt anyone here has a Porsche tattoo. It's a subculture, rich with stories, characters and heritage. I think that alone helps drive its high sales. So, to sum up.....I hope HD quality has improved. I am glad chief has good luck with his. My personal, and anecdotal experience has shown me that the japanese bikes are superior (and cheaper to boot!). I want HD to succeed as we need all the manufacturing we can get in this country.

Tattoo
I am sure there are people with Porsche tattoos....but I am sure there are many times that number with HD related tattoos.
There are a few companies that have created true Brand merging with people:\ HD Nascar Jeep (maybe?) There are others that define the brand: Kleenex Jell-O Elevator While I doubt, or hope not many people have Jell-O tattoos, I simply meant that there is a ferverent cultural identity with HD. And I was postulating that there are a lot of people with HD tattoos....not so many with Porsche, or Ferrari, etc. I wish I could write what I was trying to convey more clearly.
