Any Optics / Electrical Engineers Out There?
Our lab was throwing out a camera that zooms in and measures wear scars on bearings. The company who we bought it from, Kohler, says its broken and can't be repaired. I have the unit with the power supply and software. It was not dropped or anything, prolly sump'n just burned out? I don't know. I was going to open her up and take a peek - I will snag some pics to share and garner advice. I would like to fix it so I could use it.
What are the various things that could break and what could not be fixed?

One other accessory you should search for is the service manual with schematics.

looking - might be tough. I will check with Koehler. Its a Model K39100 scanview camera.

This is kind of like saying "My car is broken. Does anyone know how to fix it?"
 How is it broken? Just won't turn on? Probably electrical as opposed to optical.

looks like an old Sony- is the power supply a CMA-D2? The camera itself may be easily replaceable, the front optics and the controller are probably the $ parts.
