Who knows about SCADA/HMI programs with OPC/DDE? DasyLab??
As a fresh college grad (mech eng), I am working for a company that has given me free reign, zero supervision, and almost unlimited funds (pretty cool) to design build and install a system for a pilot project that reads temp, flow (differential pressure), and O2 percentage wirelessly from 30+ gas flow streams a few miles away. The data needs to be logged, plotted, and monitored via computer readout.
Knowing almost nothing about this type of stuff going in, I now have a working setup that Im very proud of and enough parts for 4 more prototypes. Today I was successful at using the two programs as an OPC server and client to pick up raw data from the wireless sensors (0-5V, 0-10V, and 4-20mA transmitters through a repeater and transceiver) to offset and scale the data into the units for the type of data they are monitoring. I had had some problems/questions about the SCADA program (DasyLab) and the company that makes it is not very good with support. Long story short, I think I have figured the basics out but as an additional source for support for future problems, I thought I would consult this board for any experience with this type of SCADA/OPC/DDE/HMI software. I know there are some pretty smart people here (we do drive porsches afterall ![]() Heres a screenshot of todays progress set up for one location (bench test with thermocouple in ambient air, pitot tube not inserted, and O2 sensor not hooked up but all working): ![]() PS.
