Any experts on Occidental rugs here?

Let's discuss:
warp
woof
weft
(I know nothing)

The woof is the one that craps on the weft & weave.

My friend's dog had an occident on his rug, closer to the weft than the woof, ironically.

Join the Club...There are guys out there that can tell you the village the dam thing came from.

Go over to Live Auctions...start looking at the different rugs and start to note prices.

There are alot of Persians in country that go for a song.

Usually the more knots PSI the more expensive.

Buy the book "Oriental Carpet Design" by PJ Ford...good primer

Don't know a damned thing about them, other than to say that the ones Evren & Ruki gifted us are very pretty.

Now I know a thing or two about Orientals.

But Occidental?

Is that like "wall-to-wall"?

You mean in the Biblical sense?

Personally, I'd rather "know" a woman young enuff to be an Asian -- the ones old enuff to be Orientals... well, you're well into grandma territory there.

Don't know a damned thing 'bout Eurasian,
but those who're of Chinese persuasion
are said to age much like fine wine,
unlike the more typical Asian
who'll wither and dry on the vine.

If one's caught it can be quite a treat
(in a foot race they're not hard to beat;
they can't run too fast with those bound feet,
and they're light and quite easy to stop),
'cause they're tiny and spin like a top.
