A couple of photos of the new backyard

Finally bought a new to us home. 1300 sqft upstairs and down, built in 1961, sandstone facade instead of brick, 3 car garage, three barns, 60 acres. Time to go hunting!!!

Nice, if I had that much room I think I'd buy a spare 911 to turn into a rally car and drive it around the property.

Very nice, David! Trico came through huh?

I keep looking for a farmlette out this way....but they are getting harder and harder to find. Just a few acres would do.

Good luck with the new home and land. I'm so envious!

Very nice. Best part is you won't have to go too far to get away from it all.

If you haven't done it before, if you plan on making a small business out of your farm, let me know...I've been doing it for 15 years and can help you avoid some of the mistakes in both assumptions and execution I made.

Good luck...beautiful place.

15 Dec move in...

Souk,

Trico did wonders!! They had issues with the highway department survey and some other MAJOR headaches. Came in at the bottom of their bid price!!!

Hugh,

Photos I have on the laptop are following. First is the four stall horse barn. third photo gives the back of the equipment barn near the house and the side of the horse barn. Next group gives the hay and equipment barn. Better photos can be taken once I actually move in...

Seahawk,

You've some mail coming your way!!!

20+ acres in hay, I will turn about a four acre self contained patch back to pasure as a rotational pasture. five acres of horse pasture, which I will increase by another four. one acre around the house and drive. I have MANY fruit trees we will be bringing in. Looking into cows at this stage...

Check bison too, if you don't mind me suggesting. I have a friend in Ohio who has a bison farm. I could get you his # if you like. He would be very happy to discuss his experiences with you although he has only been doing it for a few years.

Thanks! It is a nice looking place! We were praying we could find something of at least 10 acres, this was unbelievable!!! Power of Prayer?

Bison are a bit too aggressive for us as we are newbies into cows. There are also increased fencing requirements and I just do not have the ready capitol to sink into new fences.

I have about 100 feet of fencing to replace/repair this winter and then we are ready to go!

Away from it all is up the hill behind the house (couple hundred foot elevation climb) or down into the back of the property where the stream exits... Cannot see the neighboring houses and it is state forest across the street beyond an older hay field.
