Tree removal...sweet fancy Moses!

4 trees (maybe 70' -100' each). Your cost:

$6,078

:

Yea, that'll happen. I'll gnaw them b1tches into stumps with my teeth first. WTF?

I've cut down two trees on my property (granted, the tallest was maybe 25').

All it cost me was an $80 chainsaw and four weekends.

I'd let the stump sit over the winter and dig it out next spring.

Len's problem may be that these trees need to be removed from the top down...

People actually pay others to cut down trees? Wow, I should back charge my dad for all the firewood I cut for him as a kid.

If I lived closer, I would come up and give you a hand.

My next door neighbor took down a 75' sycamore last summer. His lot is maybe 50' wide and my house is maybe 40' from the base. He rented a lift and cut it down from the top. Took him two 12-hour days.

Amateurs don't mess with 80 foot trees. With trees that tall you start cutting at the top and work your way down. You need a bucket lift to do it. I just had two dead pines in the front yard cut down. The crew had a 75 foot bucket and used a 20 foot pole saw to start at the top of them. Had them cut down, hauled away and the stumps ground out all in about 4 hours. You couldn't even tell they had been there except for the bare spots. All for $1700.

Last week I had 20 old fruit trees cut down at the ground and hauled away for $195. They were probably 15 feet tall each.

Yea, these have to be topped...well two or three of them anyway. They are too close to the house and wires to just drop. But still.

"danger" trees...those near wires & structures, are indeed $pendy to have removed. Did you call an arborist?

I was faced with a bill like that about 10 yrs ago....Had some big Cedars come down in storms and wanted some away from the house.....In the end, I hired a logger to come in and he took 3 1/2 logging truck loads off my 1.5 acres. In the end, he paid me $5,000 and I still have plenty of trees left......

Shop around, run an an for someone looking for firewood......

Last yr I had 12 trees removed in my yard. Oaks and silver maples, ranging from 30 ft to 100 ft (mostly in the upper range) $1750. included grinding 6 huge stumps. Just removed a huge silver maple out front. about 60 ft. Same guy charged me $475 with stump grinding.

Those trees are producing life giving oxygen and reducing carbon dioxide in our atmosphere . . . and they might be sentient.

Even if they are sick, they need emergency care now, at all costs.

Which is exactly why we should kill them all now...before they evolve.

I am very happy with the rebuild though. I have a bit of a man-cave now and they gave me a new roof and re-stained the whole house. I really can't complain.

Sounds like you and that tree had it all worked out in advance.

That big fella made quite a sacrifice for you. I'm only left to wonder what you did for the tree . . .

Garage
That seems high.

Had a tall pine taken top down the old fashioned way with ropes between my garage and the fence 8' away. $350.00 and I cleaned up everything, they cut it down in little pieces and branches.
