My $0.42:

- Too much 'jump cut' stuff throughout the film, but especially in the opening chase scene.

- No gadgets and no Q. Yeah, we all have iPhones and stuff, but we still need some yet uninvented gadgets. It's a Bond trademark. (Yeah, I'm a sucker for the cheesy Roger Moore Bond era...)

- Holy hype Batman! Ford, hydrogen fuel cell powered Fords, and a whole hotel powered by hygrogen fuel. Greene, as in Echo friendly Green. Yeah, I get it - Bond captures the villian, and saves the planet while driving a hydrogen powered Ford Edge. * Y A W N *

- Everyone is comparing this flick to the Bourne movies. What about DaVinci code? Seems this uber secret society is above the law, and folks will do anything for it. Can it be that Tom Hanks will be the next Bond?!? (Ah, the horrors....)

- The whole avenge my girlfriend plot, as well as the rest of the plots and sub-plots were not very clearly defined, and I even rewatched Casio Royale a week ago, to get caught up!

For me, it was disappointing as a Bond flick, ok as an action flick. But I expect more from a Bond movie.

-Z-man.

He never said, "Bond.... James Bond"
No gadgets
Not the playboy/gentleman that Connery, or Moore could pull off
Not a great movie-- even my twelve year old son caught the ways it sucked

Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Well said, this is exactly what the movie was supposed to be.

Yes.

We got there late and were seated in the front row.

We stayed until the end but have absolutely no idea what the film was about.

If any of you youngsters want to know what dropping acid is like, go sit in the front row of this movie and sit all the way through.

I enjoyed it as an action movie. I saw the same ties to clean/green that Z-man did. I also missed the whole Q branch and gadgets as well.

Looks like they left this open to a "triquel". Looks like a few prominent figures in Quantum got away and there are still things left open from Casino Royal.

I don't think these last two flicks can be compared to the rest. These are darker and have less humor than their predecessors.

Anyway, I hope they continue the series for a few more movies. It's always something to look forward to during November.

Oh, I liked the scenes from Siena as well. Having spent a couple of weeks in an apartment, over looking the Piazza del Campo, the Il Campo scenes brought back good memories.

I can see how some people would not embrace the "new" Bond. It's not that he's just a different actor, it's a whole different Bond. As I said, I think the Bond series just got too goofy. This is a nice reset on which to build future Bond movies. I would imagine Dr No, From Russia With Love, and Goldfinger are fair game for future remakes. I would love to see that happen.

Haha so true. When I went the theater was almost empty but we sat mid way back. It was still crazy. The car chase was just chaos.
