Not at all, hell you play some of my favorite music. I may be taking Teddy Washington with me so he can visit his kids (they are too cheap to fly him to Atlanta) this is a guy you would really enjoy talking too, living music history, was with James Brown for years and in the Hall of Fame on the Brown albums

Teddy Washington
Teddy Washington is well known not only as a highly talented trumpet player, vocalist and band leader, but also as a historian and author of the of the book "LIFE THE PUZZLE".

Teddy has shared the stage with such musical legends as Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, James Brown, Patti Labelle, B.B. King and Tony Orlando & Dawn. Teddy & his band have played the Jacksonville Jazz Festival nineteen times and too many other festivals to mention.

Teddy has won many coveted awards, including the Onyx in 2003, Kwanzaa in 1982 and was inducted into the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame in 2006.

Teddy was a highlighted performer during the 2005 NFL Super Bowl held in Jacksonville, Fl.

Mayor John Peyton issued a proclamation in 2007, proclaiming September 7th as "Teddy Washington Follies Day", a looked forward to event held each year at the Fla. Theater, in which Teddy and the community recognize many of unsung talents in our area..


In 1999, Teddy participated in the re-opening of the "Ritz" Theater. He also produced his first FOLLIES AWARDS at Jacksonville’s Florida Theater, showcasing many local Jacksonville area talents. Teddy himself directed the 14-piece orchestra.

Teddy covers musical styles from jazz, blues and R&B to Big Band with equal verve. He is truly a crowd pleaser, whether it be with a five piece combo or a 30 piece big band. His rendention of "Georgia" will bring tears to your eyes, and your feet to the dance floor.
