wow, that's cryptic. I'm sure there is an interesting backstory to this...

There are a few threads on this topic over in the SoCal section of the ferrarichat board if you're so inclined to read some of the background, gossip, speculation, etc.

Another casualty of "real estate always goes up" based consumption, I'm guessing. RIP.

There's a 12 page thread on Lambo Power. The claim is that they had financial difficulties not related to the current economy. The further claim is that it will re-open shortly with new owners. It was the highest volume dealer in the world accounting for 10% of sales.

I was told by the Audi/VW dealer in Santa Ana that they were bought out by Lambo of OC back in April 08. That being said, their quality of business and how they treat customers was that much more amazing than the last time I had visited the dealership. They pampered me and gave me a high level of service unlike I had seen before. I wonder if the owners held onto these?

Maybe the Audi/VW thing is one of the reasons they went under. I heard they paid some incredible amount of money for that dealership - so much debt service on it that it could not possibly have been profitable even in good times. With the collapse in car sales, it must have been killer.

Calabasas Lambo was formerly California Cars, which is where I bought my 911. I heard Ca. Cars went under because of money laundering. Sheesh!

Thats incorrect. The lot where California Cars was is now The LA Auto Gallery. Wayne is correct. The Auto Gallery was willing and able to pay more money. Great location, there on the side of the freeway. (http://www.laautogallery.com)

Calabasas Lambo was down the road. My Father and I both purchased Porsches from California Cars when they were still in Calabasas. Richie now owns and runs a much smaller operation place out of Thousand Oaks.
