But did you save the wine? Or at least drink it?

Had to drink it. It took about two weeks to be successful. Told the Mrs. it might go bad. We're still recovering.....

Thanks to the internet and Google I was able to trouble shoot with ohm meter a faulty thermostat. The part is ordered and hopefully by the weekend the unit is back in business of keeping the wine at drinking temp.

On a refrigerator, it is generally the thermostat or the compressor that goes out, what else is there to it really.

My POS cooler had a freon leak buried deep, impossible to get too.
I cant believe this thread is revived.
I now have a cooler that runs great, and rent an off-site wine storage cage that houses the stash, lots of deals on some good juice out there.

I was thinking of this thread the other day when shopping for new cabinets. Made anywhere but China was a pretty high priority because I don't want to deal with high formaldehyde levels or raw materials that seemed obviously cheap. In the end we're going with Cardell - made in Texas. :)

Update - the new thermostat arrived yesterday. I performed a 'while you're in there' cleaning of the entire unit, installed the new thermostat (hardest part was placing the temperature sensor/bulb), and behold it runs like a champ. Part was $100 and the install time was under an hour including setting up in kitchen and wine reload.

FYI there's a blue button at the left corner of the screen that say Spell Check.

Aluminium is also an accepted spelling in much of the world, what do you suppose the blue button says about it? ;)

BTW that's how I always spell it. Really pisses off the other engineers. Specially the young ones who don't know any better.

How long have you had that Kitchen Aid cooler? I'm considering one for the bar- but we're had poor luck with our KA SBS counter-depth unit. Good thing I bought the extended warranty- the first repair was to replace the entire freezer door at a cost (to Lowe's, thankfully) of $1200. By the second time they'd figured out how to retrofit the icemaker components so they didn't have to replace the door, only the whole dispensing unit. It goes on and on . . .

Think that's mostly Brit-speak.

Since May 2003.

Indeed.

But where is the button that ensures that an "s" is put at the end of "say"???

Oh great, now we've all turned into 'net nannies ;)

It was 'sposed to be funny. Guess I'm not.
