Countach drag coefficient = 0.42

I honestly belive Leno is a good guy. I'd love to have a beer with him sometime.

Sarc 12-09-2008 03:23 PM

I agree. Just seems like a genuine car guy blessed with a healthy amount of disposable income. Probably a complete 180 fom the Countach (which is what I love about his collection), check out the wail this little guy puts out.

Yep. I wanted to paint him as the bad guy in the whole Letterman/Leno/Tonight Show fiasco. Over the years, I've come to realize he wasn't. I seem to see him on Speed every six months or so doing some show or another. Pickup trucks, Carrera GTs, buying a Duesenburg...it's clear he LOVES cars.

RWebb 12-09-2008 05:13 PM

should invite him to Cambria some time...

Did you not hear him say he was in the Lamborghini SECTION of the garage.

I have a Porsche section of my garage. It contains one. The other is in the Porsche section on the street. :(

Would never of thought as this car as a daily driver! Surprising how trouble free he says it has been.

sammyg2 12-09-2008 05:37 PM

Come to So Cal and go on the new years hangover run. He just might be there.
A few years ago he showed up with his 1000 hp rear wheel drive toronado. Burn-outs galore, like a high school kid.
Lots of the local Porsche guys have run across Leno out for a nice weekend drive, he is always friendly and likes to talk cars. He's the real deal.

mike55 12-09-2008 06:07 PM

He really does a good job talking about his and others cars. Once he leaves the Tonight Show, I wouldn't be surprised to see him do a show on Speed or something dedicated to cars.

Schumi 12-09-2008 06:45 PM

watch his video on the 2009 Carrera S with PDK - pretty cool.

ramonesfreak 12-09-2008 06:47 PM

did he say "porsh" and not "porsha"?

slow&rusty 12-09-2008 06:56 PM

I can say that Jay Leno is an incredible guy (understatement). I spent part of a Saturday afternoon with him touring his car collection 1 on 1 (it is off the Burbank Airport) and he is everything everyone on this post mentions. He does have two Miuras.

Interestingly, he only owns one Porsche - a CGT and only one Benz - a SLR. But he does have a Mazda RX8 in his collection, so he has an eclectic mix of cars.

One of his biggest regrets? Selling his '67 Datsun 1600 Roadster many years ago.

He has never forgotten his humble roots and start in the dog eat dog entertainment business. He will forever be a true car guy that is passionate about the industry.

The best part? He wants to know as much about your cars in your garage, as you do of the cars in his 4 warehouses!!!

Great guy!

Regards - Yasin

Hey Yasin, have you thought about selling that sweet Datsun 1600 of yours to him?

Bil

daepp 12-10-2008 08:07 AM

He mentions twice that with a roller bearing crank there is no need for an oil gauge. Can anyone explain this to me?

There's too much clearance for there to be any significant oil pressure.

daepp 12-10-2008 09:52 AM

So when we read the oil pressure on a non-roller-bearing engine, it's the pressure at the bearings??? I always thought it was the pump pressure??
