Nice ride!! Wow. Some one has spent a lot of time and effort. I have always loved those things. Actually looked at one before the Carrera purchase. Kinda a cool story on the car. It was owned by a doctor in West Hartford. His wife bought it from him when he got back from Nam. He was the only owner, a 71'. Unfortunately the frame had rot. Well not unfortunate for me I ended up with the 911
![]() Thanks for posting

The 240's were great. Then Datsun started making them heavier with more luxury features. 260 and 280 models began the downward slide. Kind of ruined the original concept.
Of course, Porsche would never do that.

IMHO, like the 911, 240's look better unmolested.

As a current Datsun Z owner, I am definitely partial to these cars, always have been! The cracked dash is no worse than that 911 cracked dashes, and if you can work fiberglass easy to fix and can be recovered in your fabric of choice.
That black car has what is known as the G-Nose and of course the BAMF wide flares. Its beautifully done for sure... some more...: ![]() ![]()

I had a blue 240 in high school, and then a couple of 280ZXs later. I always appreciated the room for a tall driver and loved the cars.
I first saw a 240Z just before I turned 16 (1975) and was amazed at how beautiful it looked. I was with a friend and his Dad. I can remember the Dad saying to me, "Don't bother getting excited about that car, its way too expensive." I can still remember thinking, "So? If I want one I'll have one!" Ha, not much has changed, I owned one a year later.

Damn I love those things. You can still get a perfect one for $10k, that can't last forever.

Is that Fulton County Stadium after they imploded it in 1997? Sure looks like it!

![]() Both those cars are owned by Tod Kaneko. The 240Z has 993TT brakes on it and approx. 450hp (if not more) BTW. Tod used to be a mechanical engineer at Garrett and now is an engineer (actually Manager) for MazdaSpeed in Anaheim. Good guy too. The 510 has a Mazda Rotary 13B turbo in it with over 300hp. Enjoy! I've been a huge fan of 240Zs since I was a child. Thanks for the pictures!

This was my 72 240Z back in the late 1990's:
![]() Had an L28 (2.8 liter) engine and a 5-speed tranny from a 280Z as well as a 3.90 locked rear that I bought out of a 510 race car. It was a surprisingly fast car, much like a long hood 911 with a 3.0 transplant would be.

NICE!!! I had two 240z in my younger days...look great and fast....just loved them cars. Back then I had about 270 hp and was always looking for Porsches to race. Rotted out from underneath me...though.

It looks like the wipers park vertically on the black car. Would this be for aerodynamic reasons?
