Investment Resources - What Do You Use?
For those of you who are more actively managing, or participating in the management of your investments, what resources do you use to stay well-informed? While we're in this economic/market slump, I'd like to ratchet up my personal involvement in managing our portfolio. I'm lightly involved in managing our potfolio now, while working with a "portfolio consultant" from a brokerage firm. My wife and I are not at all impressed with the consulting they provide.
I have a technical/analytical background, so research and digesting information are generally not an issue for me. This request is more for me to get up to speed quickly, without having to weed out the less worthwhile sources of information. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may offer.

The Economist
Financial Times Wall St. Journal Bloomberg It takes time to connect all of the dots and weed out the bud from the shake, so to speak. I've been actively studying this stuff for the last 5 years and I still don't feel like I know what the hell I'm doing. Beware the fear-mongering news/financial sources like CNN. I view these as the "Cosmopolitan" of investment resources that are designed to appeal to people that only want to read one web page.

I'm a great believer in Value Line.
It's expensive, but the best research out there. If you can split the subscription with a couple of friends, so much the better.

I'm not laughing Craig...you're more effectively employing the methods my "consultant" uses.

As long as Jim Cramer remains on the air, I can't see why you'd need anything else.

Has the quality of business reporting in the WSJ suffered at all by the ownership change to Rupert Murdoch?
