hey, i just opened one last gift.

it was obviously wine or some kind of hooch. it was a bottle of charles shaw, wine. yup, two buck chucks. a zin, i think.

i try not to be a "wine snob" or anything, and would toss back an inexpensive bottle any day, but $2buck gives me a headache. why?

anyone cook with the stuff?

I'd always heard if was the sufiltes until I just Googled that subject. Turns out that's bunk, but there are a number of theories about red wind and headaches. Might make some good reading if you have the time.

I cook with it. I go through a bottle of Chardonnay a month for light sauces. I don't drink much wine, but I can tolerate TBC just fine.

I would refrain from giving away TBC. It is just too obvious how much the stuff costs. Any cheap bottle of wine you get at BevMo will be less obvious ...

The one bottle I bought (for cooking ofcourse) was opened by my now ex-girlfriend. Each pour was full of dead fruit flies. We were breaking up at the time, so ofcourse I didn't tell her.

Did it have a screw cap?

Pass it in a brown paper bag this way.
