Bought a 1990 Jetta with 2.0 crossflow swap

For my kid.

I think we found a good one. It's a 90 Jetta Wolfsburg edition with an engine and trans from a 98. New clutch at the time of the swap. Engine had about 75k on it when the work was done and the PO put about 10k on it afterward. It's got a new carpet and complete interior out of a 92 GLI in it that's in great shape. Tektonics exhaust, K&N style short ram intake, H&R springs and sport struts, new axles, cv's, bushings, etc., teardrops, new dunlop tires, newer brakes.

It's really straight and most of the original paint is in great shape. The hood and trunk have some thin paint and the PO hammered the hood to make room for the throttle body I think.

My son loves it and has already changed out the door handles the PO gave him from a newer car, fixed the interior light and is working on the stereo wiring. It drives great, plenty of power, smooth at speed, shifts great. Paid $2,200.
