the anti-thred of Turbo6bars thread

Viper V-10's I've yet to hear one that sounded "Right" it just doesn't do it for me. I do love it's power and all...but the sound of it is just not there for me

mazda's wankers

onlycafe 12-28-2008 10:29 AM

a close tie between trabant and citroen 2cv.

pwd72s 12-28-2008 10:30 AM

A flat air cooled six with a collapsed chain tensioner....a horrible sound!

full race ones sound ok, as long as you have ear plugs their "angry & nasty" like a race engine should be.

No far on failing parts on the engine sounds

varmint 12-28-2008 10:36 AM

straight pipe harleys. the sound of power being wasted.

and every moron with a VTX, V-Star, etc who tries to get their perfectly fine bike sounding like a harley

masraum 12-28-2008 10:36 AM

a Civic with a "bullet" (fartcan) muffler. (really pretty much any car that the kids are putting those stupid mufflers on these days)

Those loud, obnoxious harleys. I'd love to have a horn on my car loud enough to make those guys soil their pants.

pwd72s 12-28-2008 10:36 AM

any little 4 banger rice car with a coffee can exhaust...

+1 I thought it was just me.

peppy 12-28-2008 10:58 AM

The Quad 4 GM engine from the 80's. It sounded so rough, like it had no oil in it.

Won 12-28-2008 10:58 AM

Nissan 350Z and Infiniti G35 cars. Obviously they tuned the exhaust system to achieve a certain tone but the combination of pitch and loudness just make them sound like a constipated Ferrari.

Agreed. It's a sound reminiscent of a UPS truck. Quite terrible.

Nobody likes a wanker. I do know a few rallyists who like wankels though and they can sound pretty sweet with a straight pipe (and bloody loud when it gets ripped off on stage!)

Personally, I can't stand the riced up 4-bangers with their AngryBee((TM) fartcan exhausts.
