e30 is a sleeper though and inspires awe ,something a miati doesnt it seems more like a car destined for a pixar movie, i dont mean to bash a good friend of mine has a pristine white one that some horrible antics including a new york city garbage truck and a messy ooze of garbage happend too on his day off with the top off sadly

Ok, I finally got a car. An 04 acura TL with 57k miles for $13,500. The car is mint and is a six speed manual with the brembo brakes. This things hauls ass and is sooooo smooth. The torque steer is an eye opener at wide open throttle in a low gear but I can live with it. It has every option except navi. I can finally stop looking yea!

Pretty good choice. Should last forever, and the manual won't explode like the TL automatics like to do.

Put some wider rubber on it and get in the habit of pointing it before you punch it.

Torque steer can be fun once you get acclimated with the car and its unique characteristics.

I tend to drive FWD with a relaxed grip, better to let it go a bit and finesse it rather than manhandle it and overcorrect.

My dad has a MB SEC. I drove it to san diego, and back. They drive like a dream, but that seat belt arm thing is kinda funny to watch.
I think he might be interested into letting it go if anyone is interested.

But...got about $40K in it now. :( I'll not be selling it, needless to say. :D

DARISC- I always loved the look of your car, esp in the pic.

I think the turbo decklid on SC's looks awesome.

Thx for the advice. I will give your method a try.

Thanks!

The SCs are "bullet proof" they say. Mine was my daily driver for about 4 yrs and I now drive it 3 or 4 times a week. It's been super reliable.

I could have driven it as I bought it (only had a leaky wheel bearing and a few other relatively minor maintainance issues) but I had it gone through to make it a daily driver (paint, windshield, cookie cutters changed for 16" Fuchs, SSIs, Bilstein Sports, t bars, ya da ya da) with the intention of never selling it.

Contrary to many's belief, a Porsche isn't intrinsically an expensive to maintain car (at least the SC isn't) if it's kept up. Mine's about to turn 200k on orig. rings & bearings (had valves, and mildly pitted cams ground) and I don't add any oil between 5000 mi. oil changes.

The turbo decklid was factory installed. They're cleaner looking, IMO, without, but too floaty at 85+ to suit me.
