Yo Moses!

Your daughter has had the new Mazda 3 for some time now...how's it holding up? I figure being driven by a young college girl is a good test of automotive durability.

She treats it like an appliance (as expected). It's been a great little car. I drive it quite a bit and use it when I need to haul a lot of stuff. The hatchback hold a lot.

It drives well, has reasonable power and handles well. Most importantly, my daughter loves it.

Kind of sad, but I went back to the dealership on a Saturday a little while ago and it was a ghost town. The salesman said the whole place was lucky to sell a car or two a week. I guess the economy is tough.

The real test of this car will be reliability. As for design and performance I have no complaints. It's a great little car.

Hey! 10,000 posts!

You chose a good one for your 10,000. Still thinking of upping the number of rigs in our stable...just don't know which way I want to go...fun or practical.

Thanks for the feedback...

I just had to put rear brakes on my wife's Mazda 3... at 85000 miles.

Other than oil changes we have done the following:
spark plugs
air filter
turn signal stalk ($30 from ebay)

I was in the dealership recently and was quoted $15,600+ttl for a new 2008 Mazda 3S 4 door. It was very, very tempting.

2009 is the last year for the MazdaSpeed3 according to the local Mazda dealership. I love mine, at 27k miles, it's been fun, practical and trouble-free.

2009 is the last year for the current body style. There have been spy photos posted on the next MS3 based on the new 3, to be released in 2010 or 2011.

Milt, I'm getting to the point of not giving a damn what I drive...as long as it gets me where I want to go. Still, there is a smidgeon of "car guy" left in me...
