I need an opinion...

It's health related.

It's pretty clear that the only allergy I have is the fuzzy 4 legged critters. Felines more so than canines. The cedar mold is really high though. It's not much of a problem, but I'm in a town (on vacation in Aus,TX) that hasn't produced an allergy problem in the past.

However, I feel asphyxiated. A noose around the neck, if you will. No buggers in days.

Will a salt water nasal bath work? Antibiotics later? I hope I'm not beyond repair.

I'm allergic to beer? Thanks, I needed to correct the grammar.

I feel like spare change.

You might have 2 issues related to allergies. I am allergic to grass, dust, ragweed and will get regular allergic reactions; my nose will run and eyes water but really its just more of an annoyance.

When around dogs, cats even a friends Guinea pig I will get allergy induced asthma that feels like someone is sitting on my chest making breathing more laboured, usually when my back really starts to tighten up I let the people I am visiting know that its time for me to go. I have been tested for allergies, and I have also been prescribed a puffer for fast relief and Symbicor which is a steroid which provides more of a long term effect. Avoidance is key for me, I dont have animals in the house and make sure I "drug up" before visiting people who I know have pets.

Go to the Dr's and get an appointment with an allergist.

I no longer have one, and I don't want to be a burden on society. No bs, I'm under the weather.

My wifes side of the family comes from a long line of defective allergy types. Cats, dogs, peanuts, shrooms, etc. The only thing that really works is antihistamines .... However, my daughter took our grand-daughter to an allergy specialist at an allergy clinic and she has been cleared of her allergies. She couldn't drink milk without throwing up; now she guzzles it.

So my wife took our other daughter to one here in BC and she's been cured of a life long allergy against peanuts. They use 'energy' methods to determine what you're allergic to and then cure you with an energy massage at special points on the body.

All I know is that it worked. I can get more info for you if it interests you? Hope your feeling better soon.
Cheers,

Are there any asthma inhalers that are available without a prescription?

If not, get yourself to a Doc-in-a-Box.

No sense being laid up while on vacation in Austin... there's too much good music out there to be enjoyed.

I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV (or Pelican). That said -

It's hard to tell exactly what your complaint is - your head is all stopped up? ("no buggers in days") If that's the problem, then there are over the counter remedies to help with that - salt water nasal flush, as you mentioned. Perhaps a decongestant such as Sudafed. Tylenol and Theraflu make a "sinus" formula, there are many others. There are also some nasal sprays that can be used to clear you up (Afrin, for example).

If you're feeling asphyxiated, you may be feeling some asthma, as others have suggested. There ARE (or at least, used to be) OTC remedies for this as well, such as Primatine Mist (Google it - tons of info out there).

If you're willing to spend some money on OTC meds, you can go to any pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to advise you about what would be best for your symptoms.

Hope you feel better!

Although I am a kids allergy and asthma doc, my experience is that Internet 'consultations' are hazardous. I would be happy to give it a try if you like however. PM me if so. I need as much details as possible.

In any case, seeing a live doc is warmly recommended. Not least if what you describe are asthmatic symptoms.
