Scott, I don't know what to say. I was never a dog guy until my little Barney mutt was given to me a year and a half ago. Now, if I lost him, I'd be devastated.

If anyone says to be strong, ignore that advice. Feel whatever you need to feel; Wiley is feeling it too.

Go out in your yard, and pick up all the poisonous shrooms

and repeat this exercise every single morning from now on.
These things pop up rather quickly. Over-night in most cases. Trying to pick them to make sure there aren't ever any in your backyard is a losing battle.
I'd be willing to bet there's a way to prevent them from growing that would be more effective than trying to pick them.
