The other day I got a speeding ticket in a small town in Indiana (Roanoke, between Indy & Fort Wayne). This is my first moving violation in 10 years and the first ever received outside of Calif.
What are the odds it will get reported back to Cali DMV and put points on my record? Is this totally common practice these days? I do not see any option for traffic school or whatnot like we have here to keep the points off. Curiously the fine is only $115 for 11 over the limit. I suspect here it would've been way more.

Check with Cali DMV to get list of reciprocal states or with Indiana for same. Indiana is pretty far from CA, likely not a reciprocal.

Welcome to the modern world.
Your points WILL show up there in Cali. The insurance company will know as well. Indiana does have an internet available traffic school, even with all the BS involved, is better than points/premium increase. First ticket in 10 years may not even be worth doing even that. |
