Greenville and Spartanburg are home to a lot of Industry. GE put in a Gas Turbine manufacturing plant in the 70's, to get away from the Unions in upstate NY. I know there is a BMW plant, BASF and GE. But there is also a lot of other work around.
I have/had quite a few friends who were transferred and virtually all of them liked living there.

I am in Lexington about 2 hours away. My MIL lives in Greenville. What do you want to know?

There's a road called Route 29 (Main Street), I'm wondering what the area is like, on that road, specifically between Downtown and the Hillcrest Shopping Center (I understand that stretch would be a mile or two).
Is it a decent area, safe, etc. |
