ROLEX car question-interior light
Anyone know what the bright red light in the interior is for?
All of the cars have them.

All of the cars have the lights. It doesn't seem to be lighting anything but the cockpit and it doesn't flash.

Not sure if it's what you are referring to, but all cars have a mandatory Delphi safety light system. It lets the drivers know immediately of any course condition changes.

"Some drivers and teams use it to illuminate the dash inside the car without ruining the drivers depth perception and vision in the low light (aka night ) conditions. Not sure how well it works now with the placement of the new cross cockpit restraint system."

A friend of mine is driving the #65 TRG car. According to his mechanic the light you guys might be seeing is the IR light so the in car camera can pick up images inside the car.
This damn hotel I'm stuck in doesn't get Speed so I can't see what you're talking about.

I thought it was to indicate that the transponder was working. That way they get credit for every lap they run, and if not, they can go to video to see if the light was on......
I am not sure though....
