You talking about my brother and his wife? Married 15 years and they've never used the bathroom, not even to do a number 1, in front of each other. They shut and lock the door each time. Weird.

I have a friend who was like that. He didn't fart in front of his wife (and vice-versa) during the first five years of marriage. They had met, got engaged, and got married within a year. My theory is the first few years of their marriage they were still essentially "dating".

I was like that in my first marriage.

I knew my 2nd wife was the one for me when I was forced to let one fly and she just looked at me and said "Honey!" Then we both laughed about it.
Now, it isn;t a big deal.

Of course, if she ever does, I make a big production about it.

I'm with your friend. It's not shy - it's called decorum. My wife and I call it "the pedestal". We try to keep some romance in our 20+ years of being together.
