Exactly. With perhaps Phillip Seymour Hoffman as IJR.

Or Tabs as a fallback.

Don't know if it will ever happen, let alone be done well, but there have been lots of false starts for a film version over the years.

Have you read "Ender's Shadow"? Interesting take on the same story from a different perspective. If you have not read that one, I think you will like it.

I did like Bean. Isn't Ender's Shadow told from Bean's perspective?

Great movie. Better read.

Yup Ender's Shadow was awesome. I couldn't stand any of his other books though. They were just to 'out there' for my taste.

So what is the end of the book "A clock work orange"? How does it differ from the film?

The book is 21 chapters, the movie is only 20.

The 21st chapter has Alex many years later, growing up and realizing the folly of his childish troublesome ways. He's interested in a family, and getting away from the horrors that he's left in his wake.

The movie people felt that Americans would hate a happy ending, so they left it out. It was also left out of the US versions of the book until a few years ago.

I really enjoyed the The Charm School....one of my best reads ever. The story line might seem a bit dated now but it's top-notch writing nonetheless. This book introduced me to Nelson DeMille and I've enjoyed many of his other works since. Code of Honor, Cathedral, The Gold Coast and Night Fall are among my favorites. Come to think of it...Night Fall & The Gold Coast might make pretty good films, too.

I think a JAWS movie based on Benchley's book would be cool! Maybe get Speilburg to direct it. Yea I know - alot of people say a movie about a big a$$ shark would be stupid but I think it would be a huge hit!!!!!

Sorry, im just a little bored.

Hav you actually read Jaws? Or anything by Benchley? The movie is way better than the book. In fact, I'm inclined to agree with the theory that the worst books make the best movies. I was excited when I heard Jason Bourne was coming to the screen because the Bourne series was the first time I read something and thought "Wow - this is crap." As a kid, I'd simply been a sponge up until that point.

It was still years before I actually gave up on a bad book - I always finished one once I started. I forget what I was reading when I decided life's too short to waste on bad writing. To this day, it's my number one criteria for kill-filing someone.

As for my choice - I always wanted Stephen Hunter's Point of Impact made, until the SOBs actually did it. I always pictured Tommy Lee Jones as Bob Lee, for one thing.

Odd Thomas (2012) - IMDb

Looks like a good cast that could work.

Chuck Yeager bio...the chapter on his escape after he was shot down.

Or.... The History of Aircraft Piston Engines by Herschel Smith....a lot of romance, but no sex.
