Wow talk about a thread revival. I have just recently had time to get back into reading for pleasure and I must say I like Vince Flynn. Very Tom Clancy-esque with similiar jack ryan theme.
Good stuff guys. |

I was kidding really. I'm sure there are better choices.

I've always wanted to see a movie and/or documentary on Doug Henry (the motocross racer). That guys has had more hard breaks (literally) than any other athlete I can think of. He broke his back in a horrific crash at Budds Creek in '95. He came back to win the title in 1998 on a new YZ400F (and, he won at Budds Creek!).
The story goes on from there and is, unfortunately, pretty tragic (again). But man, that guy has heart! Al |

Snow Crash

Definitely Snow Crash
The Stainless Steel Rat books by Harry Harrison The Hammer and the Cross series also by Harrison Footfall by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Heinlein Starship Troopers in which it actually followed the book I would love to see The Blade Runner remade using modern special effects |
Book to Movie............
Pretty much anything written by Robert Heinlein. Stranger in a Strange Land would be a good one.

Norstrilia by Cordwainer Smith.
Or any of his other books about the Instrumentality of Mankind. None of those will ever be made, too strange. Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove. Civil War and time travel. Or any of his other Alternative History books. Matt Helm books by Donald Hamilton. But true to the books. Matt Helm was a cold-blooded killer, not the Roger Moore era James Bond movies as protrayed by Dean Martin. Mindswap by Robert Sheckley. Ringworld by Larry Niven Or any of his Known Space books. |

Stephen R. Donaldson's The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series. CGI is up to the job.

I'd like to see more Michael Crichton stories made into movies.

Right now, Cell by Robin Cook would fit in with the times.
