Car Movie for Dad & 10YO Son Movie Night

Need a good car-movie to watch with my son tomorrow night (meaning if I order online w/ overnight shipping, I need to have it ordered in the next few hours).

We last did the Fast & Ridiculous trilogy during one Guys' Movie Night together. I'm thinking LeMans, but I think that's going to be a bit "old" or "slow" for him. I was also thinking about "Winning", but I haven't seen that so I don't know how appropriate for a 10 year old.

I have Days of Thunder & Pixar's Cars already.

Suggestions? TIA!

Yes, I drive mine as much as possible. If it's >32° & sunny, I've got the top down.

Have you guys seen Cars yet? It's fast-moving and keeps kids interested, but the level of detail can have an adult watching it over and over.

Unless he likes real racing, I doubt he'd get much out of LeMans. The story is buried too much in that move for all but hardcore racing fans.

10, huh? Probably a little young for Talladega Nights.

Not a car money, but I will second this recommendation.

How about No Mans Land? I'm sure the youngster will have fun with it.....and lots of Porsche content.

Cars is also a good movie...there's a lot of content in there that the kids wouldn't get, but the adults will...fun for all. Seems to be the trend for cartons these days. My wife and I will snicker at things during a carton or movie...and the kids are clueless. Probably an effect of people our age working on the content.

I can think of a scene with a Ms Jolie in a Diablo that might be a bit inappropriate for a 10 year old.

Not cars but motorcycles. "On Any Sunday" still holds up to this day and even has Steve McQueen in it.

No worse than what he can see on TV at 6pm every weeknight. I had just turned 12 when I saw it. Didn't scar me. But then again, I am not a parent.

I used to love the movie "Grand Prix" when I was a kid. On the other hand if you think Le Mans might be a bit slow...

I'm betting just about any 10 year old has already seen Cars at least once, but if he hasn't, that would be at the top of the list.

Okay, I see the OP has been edited to say they own a copy of Cars.

Other than that, how about one of those Herbie movies?

Or Condorman.

Or Death Race 2000.

I nominate "The Wraith" or "Phantasm 2" if you like Mopars.

Funny, I caught the end of DR2000 the other night! Frankenstein vs. Machine Gun Joe, great acting there.

We also have GISS, Nick Cage version, and he's seen it. "Gooooood Brakes", great playful banter there.

Bullitt's got the car scene, but that's about it. Not going to hold his attention too long, I'm afraid. We've watched that scene on youtube I think, and I point out the same VW coming down the hill over & over to him. Would give a nut for that Mopar though.

Smokey & the Bandit sounds good, and it's been years since I've seen Cannonball. Good stuff, and I know he hasn't seen those.

I COMPLETELY agree about World's Fastest Indian, that was a GREAT movie that we watched together. He did have some questions about the "woman" at the hotel desk though...

Thanks guys!

Some listed below are obviously not appropriate for 10 year olds... basically, the R-rated stuff...

http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/list/top10/116497/article.html

Driven is a horrible movie... but your son would probably enjoy it.
