more zombie fun - what vehicle would you hijack?
make it readily available. for you guys living near army bases, come and pick me up.
my vote, a bank armored vehicle. |
|
Depends on if gasoline is readily available. If not, and you need to escape the urban area and get far away, might just hijack the highest-MPG car you see. My Prius, with my two 5-gallon cans (that I keep full), should get me 1,000 miles away. But if the zombies force me to fight my way out, I'll wish I was in that bank armoured car. Another obvious option is something 4x4 so you can detour around obstructed parts of the freeways. So maybe the compromise between MPG and 4x4 is to hijack a Subaru Forester, if the owner doesn't kick your @$$.

i don't about you guys inland, but my vehicle would have to be a sailboathttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1233354090.jpg

I remember seeing that Damnation Alley Landmaster vehicle a few times. I believe it was off the 101 near Universal City.
|
I just picked this beauty up! It is now on a trailer on its way to me as I type this. Should be here in NY on Monday.

There's a Unimog here in Houston, actually Friendswood, that looks just like that. Same color too. The frame rails sit higher than the roof of my miata. I like it.

Well the "rambler" Batmobile would be hard to argue with... but for cars you can actually find...
... and i hate to admit this, but... ... I think a Porsche Cayenne Turbo would be perfect. |
I suppose a real hummer would be a good bet too, but harder to find than a Cayenne turbo.

Are we talking old, slow zombies? or the new and improved super fast ones with skulls made of high strength metal?

If I couldn't get a tank then one of these should do...

If you can get them stuffed into the hole, I think that you can run this one on zombies.

I post this without knowing what the top speed is.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1233370951.jpg

The Delorean with the Mr Fusion is tough to beat; if the Unimog is an oil burner, that would be # 1, since it actually exists, I would think something more fuel efficient would be better. All wheel drive would be nice, so you could run over the zombies if needed. How about a Suzuki Samurai like the guy on the corner has, maybe uparmor it a little, I bet you could do layers of carbon fiber and kevlar on the inside of the hard top

A horse, a six shooter, and a winchester rifle...

paul, you have shown that you're the man of style and taste. the only thing i would suggest is that you add a '97 hammerpump to your war bag. let me know if you need a sidekick.

Just finished watching "Diary of the Dead",
a Winnebago came in handy. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1233374926.jpg |
It's not the vehicle that matters. It's the payload...

You and Paul make a fine point. If I may change my ride of choice... Kiger Mustang http://www.pointernet.pds.hu/lovagla...stangKiger.jpg |
I hope that Unimog makes it. All that articulation doesn't do so well on trailers. My friend was towing his 'mog across the San Mateo Bridge on San Francisco Bay when frequencies and oscillations nearly landed him in the drink:
