Methinks his response is a bit defensive. Maybe a bit sensitive about the man-purse....

:D

The fix will be to use needle nose pliars to slightly close the gap on that narrow end. Get at it through the gap in the "problem" area. Hopefully it is not made out of pig metal which will quickly fatigue - but this was made in London.

Be carefull pulling the zipper - yanking on it separates the two halves of the zipper slide/head so that it can not bring the sets of teeth together enough to engage.

I tried to fix zippers on cheap snowboots with plastic coil zippers - great design/purchase. The halves quickly broke apart. I added laces to those boots - better design.

Im pretty sure your talking about the narrower end of the zipper pull part....I will try this tonight. thanks. im positive that the problem is with the zipper pull...and not the actual zipper teeth..

You should be able to find a replacement zipper at any yard goods store. I'd get the large tooth nylon kind for longevity. Any seamstress should be able to change it out.

LOL - I knew I did not have to say anything. Just hang back and wait for the man purse comments to fly. Didn't take long. All I would every carry is a laptop bag - plain black - $30 ...

Every town has a "repair it all" type of place that does alterations, watch batteries, jewelery repair and may even sharpen saw blades. Go find that place ... if you don't have one - try an upholsterer.

well, ive actually got about 20 man purses but the item featured in this thread is not. its a brief case, a leather brief case for holding my legal documents etc

svandamme 02-04-2009 09:33 AM

so, do you match em with your outfit every morning or is it more like a weekly theme system?

dhoward 02-04-2009 09:38 AM

"European carry-all".

i usually match them to my mother's old douche bag, but thats in ohio

lendaddy 02-04-2009 09:44 AM

You could cut the whole zipper out and replace it with a stylish series of loose linen sashes. You could change the colors daily to match your nails and/or shoes!

MURSE: used to describe a male handbag, or man-purse.

Be proud!
