Impressed with Sony customer service!!

I can't remember who was complaining the other day about a Sony TV but I do remember that I have some negative comments about Sony's quality and reliability of late. This was in part due to my sons's recent experience with his 2 year old Sony Playstation 3 which met it's demise the other week in what appears to be an increasingly common problem of motherboard/processor failure.
I looked around on the internet to see if I could find a fix and the repeating theme was "...call Sony", so I did.

Well, I must say I am very pleased with their customer service. After calling them I got an e-mail with instructions on what to do. So I filled out their on-line form as requested and three days later a pre-paid box showed up on my doorstep. I packaged up the PS3 in their supplied foam cradle, put it in the box and dropped it off at UPS on Monday evening. Yesterday I got an e-mail from Sony at 2pm to say they had received the system and it could take 3 to 7 days to process the repair. OK, fair enough I thought.

Then at 10:30pm last night I got another e-mail to say they have sent out a new system and giving me the UPS tracking number. I should get the new one tomorrow!

I just thought I should give Sony some credit for outstanding customer service after I was quick to criticise them for their failure. Frankly I'm impressed.

If you are so impressed, you can come pick up my Sony 40" LCD. You can hook up your PS3 to it and have hours of fun watching NOTHING! It only has about 3 months of viewing time total. I paid $1,700.00. Its all yours for $600.00.

Sony really let me down! Their stock plunged something like 95% recently. Oh, yes, they are SUPER!
