Canucks: Question about cashing in my savings.
As part of my 2009 Notfarnow Economic Stimilus Program, I am going to cash in my Canadian Parallel Currency.
It's been a while, like 8 years. Last time I did this, I think I breached some protocol or etiquette and caused quite a flap. What's the best way to handle this with minimal inconvenience and fuss? ![]()

Wow. CT money is always 'found' money. I probably have $100 (in total) in CT money laying around in 6 different places. Splurge & buy that tool you always wanted or something frivilous. But stay out of the housewares. You are breaking the 'code' by spending it on Fantastic or something mundane.
But have no guilt as the line grows long as they count it out. Just remember the times that you have spent in line while somebody else did likewise. Splurge! Ian

It looks like you are selling pot or something, all that cash lying around!
Buy some tool that you will probably only use once in your lifetime. That one time it will come in really handy!!!

Jake,
Please be careful! Releasing that much cash into the markets could lead to devaluation of the currency and a national monetary melt-down. Oh wait, the economy already seems to have gone to *****. Go for it. ![]() Les

Canadian Tire is one of our most valued institutions in Canada.
They sell auto parts, gasoline, tools (with a lifetime warranty) hardware etc.. Every week they have a good sale. I usually accumulate about 100 to 150 Canadian tire dollars every year, I always use it to buy a tool I have wanted.

How many canadian tire dollars do you get for real canadian dollars spent at canadian tire?
An then, can you redeem them in real canadian dollars and spend them anywhere you want?

I dump mine every couple of years. I just show it to the person who lines up behind me. They usually get the idea and move to another cashier.
At first glance I thought that was split hardwood (just woke up). Now I'm wondering if those 3 cent bills might be worth more just thrown in the fireplace. Get something good. Like a Sham-wow. ![]()

I'm going to make a list of small niggly things that have been driving me bonkers in the garage... missing sockets, allan keys, hardware etc. Actually it might be cheaper to just buy a whole socket set on sale... hmmm.
I think they give 3% on every debit or cash sale Pencil holder is a Weber 32DIR from a LeCar

Yes it will be cheaper. Individual sockets and wrench prices are crazy. Except at Princess Auto. And their wrenches suck.

Ha, are you saying PowerFist isn't the zenith of quality and durability? I bought a fluroescent worklight from them for $9, and it pretty much ruined my life. It was the most hateful light I've ever owned, flickered constantly and would shut off whenver I *finally* had an obnoxious nut or bolt just where I wanted it. So I'll add a new light to the list
