It's a fun topic when you stop and consider that many of the weapons that the public are aware of have their origins in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. The B-2 is the most advanced bomber in the world, but was developed in the '80s. The F-22 didn't enter service until 2003, but was also developed in the '80s. I can imagine that there is some pretty amazing stuff that we don't know about.

Yep, that one (ABL) is designed to take out ICBMs in the boost phase, though. The program I worked on was the actual "death ray" that could...uhhh...hypothetically speaking...uhhh...take out people. :)

apparantly the laser guidance lantirn pods that were on tomcats, were able to make the eyeballs of cows explode/pop if a cow happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time
