Chris Isaak
New TV show premiers Feb 26th, "The Chris Isaak Hour." His last show was fun. This looks promising.
New CD "Mr. Lucky" comes out Feb 24th. One of my favorites!

Chris puts on a great live show - rock, blues with a hint of country. Gets close and personal with the audience.

This is probably the best format for Chris. His last show, on Showtime was great...but a lot of it was fictional sit com stuff and maybe not a lot of people bought in to it..but i really liked it. I will watch this new show... I also like Shatners Raw Nerve talk show which is relatively new on that network.

For such a funny guy he sure sings meloncholy songs. I really like him, though.

CI's a NorCal guy, I've seen him in SF at Wolfgang's, The Kabuki, etc. back in the day, even before he released Silvertone. Always been a fan.

The "Mr. Lucky" CD was a disappointment for me. Decent stuff, but nothing catchy like I'm used to from him. Maybe it'll grow on me as I listen to it more, but I kind of doubt it.
Read a review on his show that wasn't too glowing. The reviewer got the pilot episode which was with Trisha Yearwood and panned it somewhat. It also mentioned that he caught his stride quite a bit by the other episode from a few shows later with Cat Stevens. Well, I thought the pilot was excellent. Chris was goofing around, making brownies from Trisha's cookbook and really asking great questions and responding well. He also had some small white dog sleeping on the couch next to him. The duets and Trisha's solo performances were excellent. I liked the Patsy Cline song they sang together. Anyway, the pilot re-runs a few times this week, then he has Stevie Nicks from 3/5, Glen Campbell 3/12, and Cat Stevens 3/19. A look-see is worthwhile.

She's "aged slightly". But still doable!

Wife and I have seen him live several times, from Humphreys by the Bay in San Diego to most recent Vegas on Valentines day. Always a great upbeat quality show, very friendly and personable with the fans. Hope his show does good, good quality music too, I think Baja Sessions is his best.
