Every Man, woman and child (320,000,000.00) just gave AIG $534.00.
WTF? When will it end?

Every day brings us closer to a revolt in this country.

Look for me to be there - the crazy fed-up red-head with the zombie gun!

I just heard on Anderson Cooper that it was more like $1400

There goes my new scissor lift.

Thank you, China. SmileWavy

You guys need to investigate and understand the reasons why the govt is supporting AIG. In particular, what are the consequences if AIG defaults on its CDS obligations?

YTNUKLR 03-02-2009 07:00 PM

*FAR* more than $62 B, which is what has been dispatched to AIG in the past 3 months.

In other news, I read today GM lost $30.9 B in the year 2008. Yeah, they need more money.

It may be cynical of me to point this out...I do believe that I read or heard somewhere that it's AIG that handles the Congressional pensions & other bennies they vote themselves.

In a nutshell: many large banks in Europe and US fail.

You might add PENSION FUNDS.

You may think you are rewarding BAD BEHAVIOR, but the skin you save is your own.

The boat is called AIG and it is leaking, if you don't bailout the water the boat will skin and you will be in freezing water with man eating sharks...I thinkk I will bail faster thank you.

Does it matter if AIG collapses or not? Or GM? Or anyone else?

One way or the other, because of these company's irresponsibility, we're being screwed...unless the typical ignorant world citizen is missing something here.

Gogar 03-02-2009 08:18 PM

$534??? That's nothing! By the end of 2009, with my "Making Work Pay Tax Credit", I'll have a cool $572 extra in the bank. Maybe I should invest it. Or buy a plasma.

Yeah well we're being thrown overboard anyway so what's the friggin' difference?? And by bailing faster you mean giving them more & more of our hard earned money to p**s away??????? Sorry Tabs poor anology :(

Buckterrier 03-03-2009 03:38 AM

And btw... since we've bailed these as*holes out what has the market done? Ummm... crapped out further? So tell me how has it helped?? Let the friggin' financial world collapse and we'll see real darwimism won't we??
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go... And it won't be for food.
