I was wondering if anybody knows somebody that works in MEPS or is a recruiter. My situation is that I was prior service Navy Seabee. Told that i didnt have to go through WTC since i had less than a year break in service and was part of a "war" unit. The army already sent me through 68w school with no problem and I been in the guard for a bit over a year with no word about WTC. But now i volunteered to go back to iraq. and they just informed me I cant deploy since i dont have WTC. All i need is a letter from a recruiter and somebody from a MEPS station to say I dont need to go through WTC. I'm not trying to get out going but i want to deploy and am thinking this is their way of preventing me to go since they really want me to go to Kosovo. So does anybody know a recruiter or somebody from a MEPS that can help me out or somebody i can contact?? I dont want to get the state IG involved but they are screwing me over.BOHICA right... LOL.... I already got a year lease on storage.. burning ALL my vacation from the fire dept to spend time with family.. all my stuff is packed... already told my land lord i'm leaving on the 21st of mar... and now 2 weeks before activation i'm told "ohh you cant go"... and they knew since DEC i volunteered to go... so if anybody can help me or knows somebody that can i would greatly appericiate it... thanks

edit...forgot to clairfy, im national guard.. not active duty... i figure active duty would have already sent me to WTC... lol...

Although most of my ties are mostly with the N.G. I can ask my boss (he's the state G-1) for some insight on your situation with the active duty side of the house. Send me a PM with your contact info. BTW, What state are you in???

After reading a few post, I'm not sure what the issue is with your unit.....The standard is less than three years and you have only been out for one year. I will get back with you after I talk with my boss.

Thanks for all the replys. I guess my problem comes in as I was prior service Navy. Even though it was a Seabee battalion, its still Navy. But my unit never said anything about going through WTC even though they sent me through 68w (medic) school. From my understand I shouldnt have been able to go to any army schools without WTC. I volunteered back in Dec and I think it should have been brought up in Feb at the most. I already made arrangements and got a storage unit and everything. The fire dept has already made changes to the schedule for my deployment. I used up all my leave from the fire dept for the year to visit family. So basically if I dont deploy I'm screwing over alot of people and myself. The new unit I just transferred to for this deployment is hurting for more people and still asking for volunteers. Chics are getting pregnant, and people are all of a sudden on medical waivers so they cant deploy. I'm actually DUMB enough to volunteer... LOL... If they screw me over on this deployment. They better not ask me to re-enlist or volunteer for anything. I got screwed out of a Navy commendation medal, a Navy achievement medal, and a Combat action ribbon by the Navy... now I'm getting screwed out of a deployment I want to go on. Freakin-A... why cant the military be like the old days.. just get out and do it... now its all paper work... and "legal" crap...
