dislocated my shoulder last night
I dislocated my left shoulder 2.5 years ago in a motorcycle wreck. I did my rotator cuff exercises, it healed great, and I never thought twice about it.
But last night as I was getting out of the shower, I reached out for a towel and slipped, landing on my elbow and dislocating my left shoulder again. I let out some curses and rolled over, which ended up pushing it right back into socket, fortunately. This morning I went to see a chiropractor, as there's a really good one nearby, and he straightened a few things out, and when I get back to Hawaii I'm going to get an MRI to see what the damage was. Now it's just a bit sore. My concern is that I now may have a weak shoulder joint. It seemed to me that it went out of joint easier than it should have, and it hurt less than it should have. I'm worried that I've got some good damage to my shoulder and I'll eventually need a shoulder reconstruction. When I initially dislocated it a few years ago, I got a SLAP tear and also tore my rotator cuff (supraspinatus to be exact). I know it's only going to go downhill from here. One of these days I'll post something positive in this forum.

I dislocated my knee a couple of times as a teenager... so did my brothers (must be a genetic thing)
I went to a orthopedic surgeon when it was really bad... he gave me some exercises to do to tighten things up (leg curls and ride a bike). and told me if I dislocated it again he would have to operate. I have been OK for a couple of decades.

When you say that you "did your rotator cuff exercises," I take that to be past tense.
You sort of need to persist with the exercises to maintain the strength and subsequently the stability after a big joint injury like that. That goes for all y'all

My boss threw a real cream puff pitch right arcross the plate, I had to smash it as all my coworkers were watching. The ball went up and I went down. The shock from the bat traveled to my shoulder; I was able to pop my shoulder back in with suprising ease. That was the 4th and last time it's happened.

Wow Armon, you've had a rough last couple of months. I wish you the best bud. Heal up and give the world some hell.
