Honda back in F1
So I don't get this, Honda is coming back but with a Mercedes engine? I guess the biggest shocker was they will all be fine ALL SEVEN HUNDRED of them?!
Geez you wonder why they were out of cash, it reminded me of those verizon commercials, let see 3 drivers, a 12 man pit crew then 685 people standing behind them saying "your good". ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7927488.stm

Well no it sounds like Ross Brawn bought the team as it sits and Honda will cease to have anything to do with it, he was just able to buy it and keep the team intact.
But I would dump Jenson Button as of yesterday.

Ya know Scott Speed started every sentence that way
![]() Not bloody likely, nothing else to prove IMO? It's nice to see Honda stay in the game, I think they were making some headway last year! But come on...Barrichello remains ![]() Would be nice to see Alonso there, but with the Renault progress late last season, nodda gonna happen!

I agree with you there Todd! Even Odds... I would love to see Schumi back in the game!
But I really believe MS is intimidated by the likes of Hamilton, Sutil, hell even Massa now days for that matter. I think MS will stay on the sidelines enjoying his past as he should; the guy changed everything about F1 in his day!

Never underestimate the ego of a racer (witness Armstrong).
First MS will move to BrawnGP as a "consultant." I'd guess that'll be announced by the end of March. |

Good call. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with a minority stake in it either.

Zero odds.
Button and Barichello will keep the seats, much to the chagrin of Bruno Senna, who seemed to think it was his birthright. And, according to his manager Willi Webber, MS already turned down an offer for an equity position in the team. Tim |

MS, while competitive, never seemed to be the kind of guy who'd be interested in driving inferior equipment. He's no Valentino Rossi!

Rossi is from a different planet. Period. Kudos to Brawn for keeping the team alive! I think putting Senna in that seat is a gamble, Brawn needs veterans there to solidify the car. To much turmoil to be bringing in new blood and upsetting the status quo. I just hope he didn't burn the Senna bridge for the 2010 season. Edit: Now they just need to ditch Merc and get some Ferrari ponies under the bonnet.

Honda is insane. Getting out of F1 was one of the smartest things they could've done, given how well car sales are doing right now.
They must really like losing money - almost as much as they like losing races. Ego trumps common sense once again.

Refresh my memory here, but wasn't the Ferrari a turd when MS joined the team? Suffered through two uncompetitive years while the Scuderia rebuilt the team around him? As I recall the pitstops pre-MS were a chinese fire drill.

The reduction in F1 costs make it more attractive to stay in the game and sort of evens out the playing field ... to a certain extent (less testing days, fewer in-season mods, etc.). Getting a team in the show in the first place is a big ordeal, made easier by purchasing an existing club member's team. IF RB was able to secure the needed financing, more power to them. F1 needs more, not less competition, and Brawn always seems to be prepared.
We'll see. Sherwood |

I'm sure MS is sitting up on Lake Como right now thinking about how intimidating Massa and Hamilton are, right!
