Rims are too blingy. Other than that, I like. It may drive like a tractor, though.

I want a diesel. But one for L.A. traffic. That thing looks more able to kill L.A. traffic, than drive with it.

Love it! Sent the auction link to a friend in Montana...bid over $30K now. Could probably buy a new diesel suburban for close to that...

Why would it drive like a tractor? It's a 2006 Duramax truck w/ a body swap. Everything other than the body is a 2006 truck w/ very low miles. It would drive and handle like a dream. All accessories and systems should work fine, he only switched the body. There is incredible craftsmanship in this thing with the way he blended the modern parts of the interior with the old truck's dash. I'm really critical of detail work on street rod projects, it's what separates the $100k works of art from (most) of the rest of them.

If I had the $$, I'd pull the trigger on this in a heartbeat. In a different setting I think it would be worth a lot more, and never really less.

Paul, They've never made a new Suburban Duramax. Beats the hell out of me why not(?) New loaded Duramax PU trucks can list for ~$60k, so $30k wouldn't get you close to a new (hypothetical) Suburban w/ this drive train.

Also, the rims and the body lift/aftermarket suspension parts are all easily removed or swapped back to stock. It's an '06 Chevy truck.

Admittedly, I didn't read much of the description. Too much effort when the writing appears in one huge block. The guy should try using paragraphs.

$30k seems pretty cheap. One of my son's friend's father has a shop that specializes in swapping the Duramax and drivetrain into Hummer H2s. A basic swap is between $25k-$30k, performance goodies are extra.

Yes, I'm looking for a diesel. That's a nice truck for sure, just not what I'm looking for and not within my budget. As for this truck; if (dreaming a la lottery style) I were to buy it, I would remove the lift kit and change the wheels. Otherwise, it's a beautiful rig!!

Agreed. It's a very difficult to read description. It always kills me when people think that basic english skills are unimportant in everyday life. It can be enough to stop me from doing potential business w/ someone.

That could be the worst wheel and tire choice I have seen in some time, completely ruins the looks. IMO it would look so much better on body color steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps with some nice tall narrow mud tires. Luckily you only have to twist the lug nuts to make it right.

Sort of like these.

Has anyone here ever "lightly rolled" a truck?

Yep.

I did a 3/4 roll into a snow filled ditch, farmer pulled me back onto my wheels and out. I'm still driving the truck, almost no repairs - it ain't pretty but I didn't even break any glass.

I tipped one over, but I don't think the majority of the population has. Most probably think of what they see on TV.

Had a 92 diesel w/ panel doors...god i loved that rig!!! 200 goose deeks, dog and a buddy...15 mpg to the hunting grounds; got 20 mpg w/ new injectors Stolen 2x... both times found in L.A. stripped w/ La Prensa newspapers and bud cans in it. The ring would steal burbans, fill em w/ illegals and strip the rig when it got to l.a.
