OT: Terrible crash in Newport Beach '77 911 and F430

Hopefully nobody knows this Jeff Kirby, driver of the 911 involved in this crash.

Must have been going near 100mph when this happened.

Really tragic, a lot of us probably know this stretch of Jamboree.
Graphic images in this story, the F430 split it two....

Why is it whenever a Ferrari crashes hard, it splits in half?

I saw the accident scene this morning and read the TMZ article. Looks like the Ferrari clipped the curve on the outside of the turn and spun up the hill until the car was cut in half by a light pole. Terrible scene to see, tremendous speeds were involved thats for sure

Why would they assume it was the Porsche driver's fault? Granted, it didn't help the cause by him driving off, dumba$$.

Interesting a police vehicle just happened to be there as the incident unfolded.

Pretty hard hit to whack the Ferrari in two.

Dieter again.

Anyone get the fuel hose off the F430 yet?

So I guess this was one of the founders of Tapout clothing, www.tapout.com.

Too bad for the loss, but probably never learned to really drive the car.

Yeah, that section of Jamboree kind of opens up through there, tempting to start racing, but just a bad idea.

I was in my mid-50's before I figured my (ground) Vne was 85.
Sorry for the family's loss.

Bad deal. That stretch has always been high speed. As far back as I can remember.

Sorry this guy died. Probably started out very innocently, if unwise. Very sad for his loss. So young.
